Women’s Olympic Team
The National Brazilian Women’s Team made history in the 1999 Winnipeg Pan American Games and classified Brazil to participate in the Olympic Games in this sporting mode for the first time for its own merits. For this reason, the following edition, held in Sidney, Australia (2000), was very special and had an important meaning for the team. The girls finished in eighth place.
In Athens (2004), once again Brazil participated independently in the games and the women’s team finished in seventh.
In 2007, the girls won the gold medal in the Rio de Janeiro Pan-American Games.
