Dakar
Held since 1979, the Dakar Rally is the world’s most famous and dangerous off-road race. It starts in the European continent and ends in Africa. But to reach the final destination, one must not only overcome the traps in the Sahara desert, but many other hurdles.
In 2008, the event is set to begin on January 5, departing from Lisbon for the third. With the rally’s safety in mind, the organizers opted to remove the most populated countries in Africa from the competition this year. As a result, Guinea is no longer in the Dakar Rally’s itinerary. The race is scheduled to end on January 20, in Dakar - the capital of Senegal.
The Petrobras Lubrax Team is once again present in all categories: Jean Azevedo and Rodolpho Mattheis (bike), João Franciosi and Lourival Roldan (car), André Azevedo and Maykel Justo (truck).
