  • Participation in the Bovespa and NYSE sustainability indices.
  • Audited by the Federal Inspector General Office and by the Federal Court of Auditors.

  • In the past couple of years, Petrobras has signed agreements with upwards of 35,000 different vendors.
  • The company made 351,344 procurements, totaling more than R$87 billion in 2006 and 2007.
  • This year alone, it audited 906 internal service-contracting and material supply processes.
  • In 2006, Petrobras concluded Latin America's biggest internal control certification project, with the participation of more than 1,000 professionals, mapping 16 macro-processes, 183 processes and 10,000 control activities.
  • The company has 70 staff members involved in attending to the Federal Court of Auditors. In fact, in 2007 alone 18 audits have already been carried out in loco by Court analysts
  • It attended to more than 176,000 customers through its Customer Service Center and its Ombudsman's Office, in 2006 and 2007.
  • Up to December 2006, it had 239,762 people working for it, 62,266 of whom its own employees, a figure that surged to 68.238 in June 2007.
  • If there is one thing Petrobras makes a point of doing is keeping you well informed; after all, the company doesn't only work with a lot of energy. It also works with a lot of transparency.

The outcome could have been no better: Petrobras was the most awarded company in the International Pipeline Conference & Exhibition, it was acknowledged by UNESCO’S 2007 Citizenship Personality Award, and Reputation Institute has just rated it the world’s eighth most esteemed corporation. And one piece of good news always leads to another.

Petrobras is tops among the energy companies in this ranking, and number one in Brazil. The jury, formed by 60,000 people, in 29 countries, it reached a conclusion any Brazilian could have told you off the bat: Petrobras places the planet’s sustainable development first.
