Education and Professional Qualification Us Slum Folk The Us Slum Folk theatre group (Nós do Morro) began in 1986 on Vidigal Hill, a poor community in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro. A theatre project was started up to involve the local population in order for them to gain self-esteem and appreciate themselves, and improve their quality of life through art, education and citizenship.
