International report highlights Petrobras’ transparency

In 2007, Petrobras made important progress in the field of social responsibility. This was reflected in its management and in its relationship with its stakeholders.

Always seeking to align its activities to the principles set forth by the UN’s Global Compact, the Company took part in domestic and international initiatives and developed projects that showed its commitment to reduce social inequality and minimize the environmental impacts of its activities.

In recognition of its efforts, its listings on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and on the São Paulo Stock Exchange’s Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE - Bovespa) were renewed.

To Petrobras, Social Responsibility is a means for integrated, ethical, and transparent management of its business and activities and of its relationships with all stakeholders, driving human rights and citizenship, respect for human and cultural diversity, and preventing discrimination, degrading labor, child and slave labor, aiming at contributing to sustainable development and at reducing social inequality.
