Petrobras’ sponsorship for this segment is present in several memory and recording actions, such as the Guignard collection, the Catalogue Raisonnés of Candido Portinari and Iberê Camargo, the Osvaldo Goeldi Reference and Documentation Center, the Mario Pedrosa collection, and in several reference publications that have been being chosen in Petrobras Cultural Program’s yearly public selection for the Art Memory area.
A sponsor of the São Paulo Art Biennial and of the Mercosur Biennial, in Porto Alegre, Petrobras also invests in disseminating the visual arts over the Internet, via the “Canal Contemporâneo” website.
In its 2006/2007 edition, the Petrobras Cultural Program supports, as a guest project, The Visual Arts Connection Notice, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Funarte. In this edition, the Petrobras Cultural Program also debuts public selection for projects aimed at education for the arts and at inclusive cultural presentations which, naturally, opens space for support for visual art, photography, and electronic art, etc., projects coming from social projects throughout Brazil.
