Introduction
Petrobras is changing the history of handball in Brazil. The partnership with the Brazilian Handball confederation, kicked-off in 2003, has already been bearing excellent fruit, such as two Pan American medals and the women’s team’s best ranking in world championships in its history.
The main goal is to develop and strengthen Brazilian handball through permanent support given to the National Men's and Women's Olympic teams (adult, junior, juvenile and cadet) and to the National League. The idea is to also increase Brazilian participation in international championships and to establish exchange programs with national European teams.
The support given to Brazilian handball is also associated to projects which are intended to make the sport popular and which have social characteristics. Handball is the sport that is practiced the most in public schools and has great development potential, ongoing concerns for Petrobras.
