Introduction

Petrobras Distribuidora started sponsoring Team Scud in the 2004 Brazilian Motorbike Championship season. At the end of that year, rider Gilson Scudeler won his third SuperSport 600cc category title, the most important in Brazil, and became the most competitive rider in activity in Brazil. Also in 2004, the team was the runner-up and the third place in the 125cc category.

In early 2005, Petrobras Distribuidora maintained the sponsorship. At the end of the season, the Team Scud Petrobras rider was once again the winner, winning his fourth title in the SuperSport 600cc category. The team also performed well in the SuperSportLight 600cc category, ranking fourth in the championship.

A new category was created for the Brazilian Motorbike Championship in 2006: Superbike 1000cc. Team Scud Petrobras competed with two bikes in this category in 2006, ridden by then four-time champion Gilson Scudeler and rider Pierre Chofard. The team also had two other bikes in the SuperSport 600cc category.

At the end of the season, rider Gilson Scudeler one yet another time, earning his fifth title in the Superbike 1000cc category, while his teammate Pierre Chofard was the runner-up. The team also pocketed the second and third places in the SuperSport 600cc category.

Once again, the Team Scud Petrobras sponsorship has been confirmed for 2007, however, only in the Superbike 1000cc category, with five-time champion Gilson Scudeler and rider Pierre Chofard. After three stages, Gilson Scudeler is leading the championship, while his teammate, Pierre Chofard, is the runner-up.

By sponsoring this team, Petrobras Distribuidora has had the chance to promote the GP Lubrax lubricant in competitions where engines are taken to their max under extreme conditions and high rotations, racing to a segmented crowd and potential final consumers of Petrobras’ products, including of fuels, with the spotlight on the Podium gasoline.

Team Scud Petrobras’ entrance in the Superbike 1000cc category allowed the product formulated by Petrobras Distribuidora’s Industrial Management (GEI) to continue being developed, in a category that complies with international regulations, for motors that reach a power of up to 200 HP and riders to ride at top speeds of up to 300 Km/h. This true laboratory, allied to constant growth in the Brazilian large cylinder motorcycles, has enabled Petrobras Distribuidora to produce and market a synthetic lubricant for large, high-performance bikes.
