Petrobras Cup
Petrobras’ involvement in Tennis is guided through the Petrobras Tennis Cup, which plays an important role in the company’s internationalization process. The event is held in a few Southern Cone countries, the region where Petrobras, as described in its Strategic Plan, seeks to consolidate its leadership as an integrated energy company.
In its fourth year, the Petrobras Tennis Cup has become a reference in the tennis world, and is acknowledged as the best professional circuit in the ATP’s (the Association of Professional Tennis Players) Latin American chapter of the Challenger Series.
In 2007, the circuit totals six stages, from October to November, with stages held in Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina and two in Brazil.
The major differential of the Petrobras Tennis Cup is giving rookies the chance to participate in high-level tournaments, with good cash prizes and, just as importantly, it allows players to add points to the ATP’s global ranking.
