HSE Integrated Certifications in Petrobras

The search for excellence in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), an objective that has been included and provided for in its Strategic Plan, led Petrobras to establish the certification of its units as one of its goals according to international HSE management standards. As a result, in January 2009, the Company had 38 Integrated Certifications in compliance with the ISO 14001(Environment) and BS 8800 or OHSAS 18001(Safety and Health) standards. These certifications cover most of the Company's business and service units in Brazil and abroad, as can be seen in the following table.

It must be emphasized that a few of these units have also been certified according to the ISO 9001(Quality) standard. The units certified only for one of the aforesaid international standard were not considered in the calculation of the integrated certifications.
