PEBG Action

9.1.1 - Initial Assessment

After receiving the information of an oil spill in Guanabara Bay, FEEMA shall adopt one of the following procedures depending upon the situation:

FEEMA ACTION
1 - From a non-member of the PEBG
- To assess the source of the information
- To action the PEBG according to the size of the spill
2 - From PEBG member without a clear indication of the level
- To action the PEBG in a situation of "ALERT" and assess the extent of the leakage
3 - From PEBG member with clear indication of level
- To action the PEBG in a situation of "ALERT" or "ACTION" according to level of related emergency


9.1.2 - Communication Sequence

PEBG shall be actioned at the following levels:

a) FEEMA must action the Port Captain authorities, State Civil Defense and companies that have anti-pollution equipment listed in item 3 of the form "PEBG ACTIONING COMMUNICATION RECORD" (Annex VII )

b) The State Civil Defense actions the local civil defense groups and urban cleaning companies and any resources considered necessary to the combat.
