TECHNOLOGICAL INCUBATION CENTER
São Mateus do Sul Technological Incubation Center was created in December under an agreement between Petrobras and Paraná Technology Integration Center (CITPAR) to help set up new companies which use and develop the latest shale-based processes.
In order to encourage new firms with innovative state-of-the-art processes from a technological viewpoint, São Mateus do Sul incubation center, situated in the area of SIX, offers physical space, use of facilities and services at low cost, technical and administrative infrastructure, technological information and business advice. It also provides electricity, steam, water and compressed air.
In addition to promoting technological development and offering Brazil an energy alternative, shale industrialization contributes to developing the São Mateus do Sul region, attracting larger businesses (which do not require incubation) which can use products, byproducts and ore tailings as inputs, creating a new industrial complex in Paraná.
