An oil company requires good maintenance and industrial installation service providers. To assure the quality of such services, Engineering (former SEGEN) created the Qualification and Certification Sector (SEQUI) in 1978 (today, an organizational unit), which since then has been qualifying workers and quality control procedures of Petrobras suppliers.
SEQUI is the first Brazilian Personnel Qualification Center. In 1994 it was awarded the ISO 9002 certificate in welding inspectors' qualification, and in 1996 in the qualification of inspectors of non-destructive tests. The qualifications undertaken by SEQUI not considered by the National Systems SNOC-IS and SNOC-END fulfill the ISO 9712 standard.
