Petrobras is the sole producer of petrochemical naphtha in Brazil, meeting Brazilian demand with its own production, supplemented by imports. It is found in a liquid state and is sold to three raw material plants, namely Braskem (Bahia), Copesul (Rio Grande do Sul) and Petroquímica União (São Paulo), which process it to become propene, ethane and aromatic currents.

This product attends to the National Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuel Agency (NPA) specifications, which are unique to the Brazilian market and have different equivalencies for the other countries.
