Norway – Petrobras and Statoil sign a Memorandum of Understandings
For biofuels, the document foresees cooperation in researching and developing technologies for ethanol production from lignocellulose and for biodiesel production, in addition to collaboration in ethanol production in Brazil for exports to European countries. The memorandum includes measures that seek to ensure biofuel productive chain sustainability, such as studies to evaluate the social and environmental impact caused by ethanol production and the definition of requisites for ethanol certification. The Memorandum of Understandings consolidates the approximation between Petrobras and Statoil and allows for integrated performance opportunities in which each company may include specific knowledge and technologies.
