In order to continue making history in creating innovative technologies and striving for even further technological excellence, the Cenpes is renewing its infrastructure by enhancing its facilities – over an area of 183,000 square meters next to the current facilities –, in which not only will there be data processing, training, videoconferencing and meeting rooms but also laboratories for research currently underway. Moreover, the innovative center of virtual reality and all biotechnology-related areas will be built in that new space. The new Center shall also be a Petrobras benchmark for the most advanced environmental performance and energy saving methods. Therefore, what is now called the Green Building will strive for the main eco-efficiency certifications in the world, ranging from the French Haute Qualité Environnementale (HQE) to the North American Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (Leed), using rainwater collection, natural ventilation and lighting, and other techniques.
